The Blood Bank Technician will assist with all aspects of blood bank operations, including patient and donor registration and screening, phlebotomy procedures, and processing of blood products.
Despite the fact that medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians also carry out a variety of blood tests, the training of a blood bank technology specialist enables them to carry out more specialized tests, like those involving the investigation of blood and its immunity (immunohematology).
